What to include in a takedown notice
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c), your notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed.
- The URL or a specific description of the material in the App you want removed.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner (or authorized to act for the owner) of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.
Counter-notice
If material you posted was removed and you believe removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice with the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g), including your contact info, identification of the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for Comanche County, Oklahoma.
Repeat infringers
We terminate accounts of users and businesses who are repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
Misuse
Knowingly sending a false takedown or counter-notice may subject you to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
